Writers: Heads Up!

Today’s blog is specifically for writers, all kinds of writers:  serious, published, unpublished, wannabes, and thinking-about-its. It’s for those people who often say, I have a book in my head that I’m going to write some day. It’s for those people who play at writing but never do anything with it, probably because they don’t know what to do once they’ve written something.

One of the strongest aids any writer, even those who are oft-published, can use is a writers’ conference. These conferences are designed to offer educational and/or training workshops (in the writer’s arena) while also providing a network of other authors, editors, and agents with whom each can interact. These conferences are charged with synergy, intelligence and camaraderie. Even the newest newbie is drawn into the interchange.

Cost is the usual downside, but not this time. Most writers’ conferences are held at hotels or conference facilities and run from $250/day to close to $1000/weekend, the latter situation involving overnight(s) at the usually upscale conference site.

But have I got a deal for you! A very dynamic conference is scheduled for right here in Rochester, NY (Gates). The venue is in a church hall and the food is deli-style and served in buffet format, all of which keeps the price downright cheap. Here are the particulars:
